Cairns-Gregoire

The Cairns-Gregoire Preserve is 14.09 acres of forested wetland along the eastern bank of the Mattapoisett River. John and Beatrice Cairns donated 8.73 acres of land in 1975. In 1988, Leonard Gregoire made a donation of 5.36 acres of land adjacent to the Cairns’ donated land.

The middle of the Gregoire preserve is where Branch Brook joins the Mattapoisett River. The Mattapoisett River continues to flow through the adjoining Cairns preserve, and eventually drains into the Mattapoisett Harbor.

This preserve is accessible from the ends of Bayberry Lane and Acorn Lane. There are no maintained trails or features on this property.
