SUMMARY:Winter Mindfulness Walk
DESCRIPTION:Shake off those winter blues and spend some time in the crisp winter air! Yoga instructor\, Carly Baumann\, will be leading this mindfulness walk at the Munn Preserve. Carly will lead us on a short hike\, weaving in grounding mindfulness exercises\, leaving everyone feeling relaxed refreshed. \nThe walk will run from 10:00-11:00am beginning at the Munn Preserve\, which is located at the end of Mattapoisett Neck Road just before Antassawamock Road. DESCRIPTION:Join Mattapoisett Land Trust and MassAudubon for a winter trek through the woods searching for signs of wildlife! This hike is designed for families and kids\, though anyone is welcome. It is free but registration is required. Please register on the MassAudubon event page. \nWe’re keeping our fingers crossed for some fresh powdery snow\, but no matter the weather we’ll still be able to search for wildlife tracks. MassAudubon staff will have all sorts of fun props\, facts\, and tips about wildlife tracks and traces. SUMMARY:Winter Tree ID Walk with DNRT
DESCRIPTION:Leaves aren’t the only clue to use when identifying trees. In the wintertime when all of the deciduous trees have dropped their leaves\, there are still ways to know what species of trees you’re surrounded by in the woods. \nWe will be joined by Linda Vanderveer\, the Land Manager for Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust for a Winter Tree ID Walk on Monday February 19th at 10:00am. Linda will lead us on a walk through the Mattapoisett Land Trust’s Brandt Island Cove District trails teaching tips and tricks for identifying trees in the wintertime. The walk will start from the trailhead on Anchorage Way with plently of parking on this quiet street. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes that don’t mind the mud. \nRSVP below\, there is limited space for this walk.

DESCRIPTION:Don’t get stuck inside during school vacation week. Come join us for a hike followed by hot chocolate and a campfire!  \nWe’re offering a morning of hiking and hot chocolate from 10:00 – 11:30am on Wednesday February 21st. Bring the family and meet us at the Holmes Foundation parking lot on Angelica Ave. We’ll take a walk on the trail (about a mile) and return to where we started for a toasty campfire and some hot chocolate. Please dress for the weather. Rubber boots or snow boots recommended. This is free and open to all.
