SUMMARY:Kid’s Story\, Spring Peas and Leprechaun loot with MLT and the Mattapoisett Free Public Library
DESCRIPTION:Kid’s Story\, Spring Peas and Leprechaun loot with MLT and the Mattapoisett Free Public Library \nMattapoisett Land Trust is joining with the Mattapoisett Free Public Library for outdoor storytime\, leprechaun loot hike and pea planting on St. Patrick’s Day Tuesday March 17\, 2026 at 10AM. \nThe adventure will begin at the Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. parking area (Angelica Ave.) with a leprechaun-themed story read by children’s librarian Kevin Thompson. After the story\, we will set off to find where the leprechauns have hidden their gold on this St. Patrick’s Day. We’ll take a short hike through the woods searching for golden chocolate coins. After our hike\, we will continue the tradition of planting peas on St. Paddy’s Day – each attendee can plant some peas and take them home to watch them grow this Spring. This event is free to all\, please RSVP on our events page so the leprechauns know how much gold to hide: mattlandtrust.org/events. Dress accordingly for the weather and join us for some fun. Email manager@mattlandtrust.org with any questions.

SUMMARY:Forest Stewardship and Climate Resiliency at Brandt Island Cove District
DESCRIPTION:Come join Mattapoisett Land Trust and forester Kate Marquis as she discusses the climate resiliency enhancement project currently underway at Brandt Island Cove District. Her work focuses on strengthening the forest function and resilience so these landscapes can continue to provide wildlife habitat and ecological value in a rapidly changing climate. \nHer management approach is rooted in site-specific observation\, practical management\, and understanding forests respond over decades. SUMMARY:Leprechaun Loot Hike and Spring Peas
DESCRIPTION:Mattapoisett Land Trust is leading a Leprechaun Loot Hike again this year! After school on Monday March 17th\, join MLT at the Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. parking area (Angelica Ave.) from 3:00-4:00pm. We’re setting off to find where the leprechauns have hidden their gold on this St. Patrick’s Day. We’ll take a short hike through the woods searching for gold (of the chocolate variety). After our hike\, we will continue the tradition of planting peas on St. Paddy’s Day – each attendee can plant some peas and take them home to watch them grow this Spring. Please RSVP on our events page so the leprechauns know how much gold to hide: mattlandtrust.org/events. Dress accordingly for the weather and join us for some fun. Email manager@mattlandtrust.org with any questions.
