DESCRIPTION:Kid’s Story\, Spring Peas and Leprechaun loot with MLT and the Mattapoisett Free Public Library \nMattapoisett Land Trust is joining with the Mattapoisett Free Public Library for outdoor storytime\, leprechaun loot hike and pea planting on St. Patrick’s Day Tuesday March 17\, 2026 at 10AM. \nThe adventure will begin at the Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. parking area (Angelica Ave.) with a leprechaun-themed story read by children’s librarian Kevin Thompson. After the story\, we will set off to find where the leprechauns have hidden their gold on this St. Patrick’s Day. We’ll take a short hike through the woods searching for golden chocolate coins. After our hike\, we will continue the tradition of planting peas on St. Paddy’s Day – each attendee can plant some peas and take them home to watch them grow this Spring. This event is free to all\, please RSVP on our events page so the leprechauns know how much gold to hide: mattlandtrust.org/events. Dress accordingly for the weather and join us for some fun.
